Lesson on Latch by Disclosure
Hi Greg,
I'm learning piano self-taught, and am developing my ear through learning songs. When there is piano, I can generally work it out closely. However, Latch by Disclosure always leaves me completely baffled, and I wanted to suggest a tutorial with two aims.
Firstly, it would be a tutorial on how to play Latch (Disclosure version) as it's one of my favourite songs.
Secondly, on how to approach learning songs like this. By this I mean electronic/synth songs. I can't get close to the chords as the dense textures and attacks of the keyboard parts get in the way. I know you were able to quickly learn the parts (not sound design but notes) of the Halsey material so the second part would be how to best approach learning these songs by ear.
Thanks,
Josh
How you analyze the harmony of a tune.
I miss being in school and being able to ask professors how they make sense of the chord movements/substitutions in songs that I'm learning. If you have any favorite resources or can share a little bit of how you make sense of a new tune when you look at it for the first time that would be wonderful.
